Bhel, being a snack, is not a complete meal, but it does offer several health benefits when consumed in moderation. Here are some of the potential health benefits of bhel:

  1. Good Source of Fiber: Bhel is made with puffed rice, which is a whole grain that is high in fiber. The vegetables and chutneys used in bhel also add to its fiber content. A high fiber diet can help promote healthy digestion, reduce the risk of heart disease, and regulate blood sugar levels.

  2. Rich in Antioxidants: Bhel is usually made with a variety of fresh vegetables, which are a rich source of antioxidants. Antioxidants help protect the body from oxidative damage caused by free radicals, which can contribute to chronic diseases like cancer and heart disease.

  3. Low in Calories: Bhel is a low-calorie snack, making it a great option for those who are watching their weight. It is also a filling snack that can help prevent overeating.

  4. Contains Essential Nutrients: Bhel is a good source of essential nutrients like vitamins and minerals. For instance, it contains vitamin C from the vegetables and tamarind chutney, which is essential for maintaining a healthy immune system.

Overall, bhel is a tasty and healthy snack option when consumed in moderation as part of a balanced diet. However, it is important to watch the amount of added salt and sugar in bhel, especially if you have high blood pressure or diabetes.
