Ingredients

1.5 cups Tomato 
2 cups Water
1 tablespoon Coriander powder
Few Curry leaves
1 teaspoon Turmeric 
1 teaspoon Red chili 
½ teaspoon Hing 
1 teaspoon Jeera 
Salt to taste 
1 cup Toor dal 
½ cup Coconut milk 

For tempering 

3 tablespoon Ghee 
1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
1.5 teaspoon Urad dal 
1 teaspoon Hing 
Few Curry leaves
1-2 cloves chopped Chopped garlic 
1-2 Dry red chilli 

Instructions

  1. In a vessel mix the tomatoes with water, coriander powder, curry leaves, turmeric powder, chilli powder, asofeotida, salt and jeera and boil on a medium flame. 
  2. Once it starts boiling, add boiled toor dal and coconut milk to it 
  3. In another, put ghee in a small utensil for tempering. To that add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, dry red chilli and hing and put it on top of the rasam once the mustard has popped.
  4. Serve in a bowl while hot and enjoy.
